2026 Athena Scholarship Recipients

Women’s Service League (WSL) is proud to announce Eve Alford of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School and Audrey Kuehn of Niles Senior High School as the recipients of the 2026 Athena Scholarships. These scholarships recognize outstanding young women who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and a deep commitment to service within their communities.

About Eve Alford

Women’s Service League (WSL) is proud to announce Eve Alford, a senior at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School, as the recipient of the 2026 Athena Scholarship.

Eve has distinguished herself as an exceptional student, earning a 4.22 GPA while completing a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum including multiple Advanced Placement courses . She plans to continue her education at the University of Notre Dame or Saint Mary’s College, where she will further pursue her academic and service-driven goals .

Throughout her high school career, Eve has demonstrated outstanding leadership and involvement. She currently serves as President of DECA, is an active member of National Honor Society, Student Council, and Interact Club, and has contributed to numerous academic, service, and extracurricular organizations . Her commitment extends beyond school, where she has volunteered more than 300 hours supporting community initiatives and youth development programs .

Eve’s passion for service is exemplified by her leadership in establishing a care closet at her school, providing food and essential items to students in need—an initiative that reflects both compassion and action-oriented leadership .

“Eve is one of the most remarkable students I have had the pleasure of working with,” shared her principal. “Her work ethic, leadership, and commitment to serving others have left a lasting impact on our school community” .

The Athena Scholarship recognizes young women who embody excellence in academics, leadership, and community service—values that Eve exemplifies in every aspect of her work.

About Audrey Kuehn

Women’s Service League (WSL) is proud to announce Audrey Kuehn, a senior at Niles Senior High School, as a recipient of the 2026 Athena Scholarship.

Audrey has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, earning a 4.15 GPA while completing a rigorous course load throughout her high school career . She plans to pursue a dual degree in Sports Management and Business Administration, with a minor in Event Management, and is considering attending the University of Michigan or Western Michigan University .

A dedicated leader both in and out of the classroom, Audrey serves as Student Council President, Class of 2026 Cabinet President, and Vice President of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). She is also actively involved in Business Professionals of America (BPA), National Honor Society, and National Technical Honor Society, where she has held leadership roles and contributed to significant organizational growth and engagement .

Audrey’s commitment to service and community is both deep and longstanding. She has been extensively involved with the Four Flags Area Apple Festival, where she has served as Miss Apple Festival, Junior Miss, and now an Associate Board Member, helping lead major events and mentor younger participants. Her impact extends further through her work with Gospel City Church, where she leads youth worship programs, and through her involvement with the YMCA Summer My Way program, mentoring and teaching young students .

In addition to her volunteer efforts, Audrey balances meaningful work experience, including training team members at Culver’s and co-leading a classroom of students through the YMCA program—demonstrating strong responsibility, leadership, and communication skills at a young age .

Audrey has been widely recognized for her excellence, earning honors such as Student of the Month (12 times), Outstanding Student in Course (12 times), and multiple BPA state-level achievements . She is known for her ability to lead with humility, inspire others, and make a lasting impact on her school and community.

The Athena Scholarship recognizes young women who exemplify leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to service—qualities Audrey consistently demonstrates.
